The use of natural pigments has ancient roots, dating back thousands of years, when the first civilizations discovered how to extract pigments from natural resources to dye fabrics, paint and decorate artifacts. The workshop aims to lead participants to explore the techniques of extracting colors from plants, roots, flowers, fruits and animals, of preparing and dyeing silk.
